Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) Registration
Digital signature(DSC)
DSC, short for Digital Signature Certificate, is crucial in modern online official, legal, and commercial proceedings where a signature is mandatory. It serves as an electronic replacement for physical signatures. Both individuals and commercial entities require Digital Signatures for various purposes, including:
- Filing Annual Returns
- Income Tax E-filing
- E-tenders
- Company or LLP Incorporation
- GST Return
- Online Registrations, and more.
An authentic DSC is accepted for official and legal processing in businesses. Its validity typically lasts 1-2 years, after which renewal is necessary. The Controller of Certifying Authority has authorized certain certifying authorities in India to issue Digital Signature Certificates, ensuring their authenticity.
In India, there are three classes of DSCs issued by certifying authorities:
- Class I Certificate: For individual/private applicants, primarily used to secure email communication.
- Class II Certificate: For directors and signatory authorities of companies, facilitating e-filing returns, online registrations, attestations, etc.
- Class III Certificate: For vendors participating in online auctions, e-tenders, and bidding processes.
